Massachusetts Seeks Female Lead -Boston, MA HUDSON: Auditions for Fame-the Musical are being extended (Date TBD). Actors age 17 years and older are invited to try out for a part in this popular hit musical being performed by the new community theater group River’s Edge Players. Formed by the Arts Alliance, the River’s Edge Players begins rehearsing evenings in June. Performances will be at the air-conditioned Hudson High School on Fridays and Saturdays, August 4, 5, 10 and 11 at 7:30 p.m. An audition may be scheduled by e-mailing arts_alliance@upwitharts.org or calling 978-562-1646. Director is Julie Ann Govang, music director is Dennis Wrenn and choreographer is Christine DiScipio. “Fame-the Musical” tells about the passionate dedication of talented high school students attending the New York’s High School of Performing Arts, a school that has been the subject of both a television series and a popular movie. The characters in the story are teenaged students studying acting, dance and music and the teachers who work with them. A chorus completes the student body. New Hampshire MANCHESTER: The New Thalian Players (NTP) is seeking Directors for the 2007 – 2008 season. This includes a musical in the fall of 2007, a non-musical in the spring of 2008 and two musicals in the summer of 2008 (Theater in the Park). NTP retains some flexibility to modify the schedule and mix of musicals and non-musicals, from our standard season format, as described here, based on submissions and venue availability. This position includes a stipend. Well prepared proposals will include the name of the show you are proposing, and a short synopsis of its (a) market appeal, (b) casting requirements and (c) technical requirements. A brief resume of the director’s experience and a synopsis of the director’s vision for the show should be included. We encourage prospective directors to submit names of potential/preferred members of their creative/production team, when available/feasible. Submissions for the fall 2007 production are due by June 30, 2007. Submissions for the 2008 productions are due by September 30, 2007.
